I just put in Patch 3 and continue a previously saved game. After a couple of turns, I try to obtain Gene Slicing from Deidre but every time after I get the tech the system says there is a GPF in terran.exe as soon as the tech window appears. My platform is 98+IE5+DirectX6.0. |

I have the 3.0 Dl'd to zip disk, but I don't want to install it until I know the terran.exe problem/virus/bug thing is fixed. I have not had any problems with the current version i am using. 1. Is this v3.0 bug free itself? 2. Is it approved by Firaxis? 3. Who's lame idea was it to have a borehole cluster? the borehole is a human, not alien invention. can we build monoliths and artifacts also now?? I hope not. |

Lord: Well, from what I understand, you can't use save games from pre-v3 ..There is a way to fix it though, gotta ask Fraxis though..Did I spell that right? Bah.. |

I'm not PRETTY sure it is a p3 bug, but it only appears after I patched p3 up. I'd finished a game with p2 and never got problems like that. And to Axe, thanks for that good suggestion. I think I'm gonna restart another one(I wasn't doing well anyway 8-)). |

I restarted a game but terran crashed again when the first time I got a tech from Deidre. I exchanged some techs with other guys successfully. Seems I'm only forbidden to exchange tech with Deidre. And I took a closer look at that GPF. It says Terran.exe caused an error in sound.dll. |

Hi LordEX, Get the full details of the SOUND.DLL crash (click "details" and copy-and-paste) results. Put them in an e-mail to Jeff Morris ([email protected]), and mention the circumstances in that letter. BR |

One other suggestion-- Have you tried setting "ds3d=0" and "eax=0" in your Alpha Centauri.INI file? |

Yeah, it works by setting ds3d=0. It seems have nothing to do with eax=1. Thanks Brian, do you still need me to send email to Jeff? |
