The UK patch wont... oh well (I figured that you figured it out)
Is your Ftp temporarily down or what?

I have the same problem. Heres a way you can get it:
1. Go to Ftp://ftp.owo.com/pub/alpha/
2. Download the patch from there.

At the risk of having the p*ss taken out of me for not paying attention, I was under the impression that only US patches existed.
Before I do something silly, like run this SMACP2UK.EXE file, where can I get further info on it ?

Check out www.gamespot.com info about SMAC. The UK-patch is available for download there.

Got download earlier from [url]ftp://ftp.owo.com/pub/alpha/[/url] and will shove it onto a couple of floppies to take back home with me a little later today.
Didn't see the UK version when I visited [url]www.gamespot.com[/url] though. Never mind.
Anyway, decided it WAS a daft question. Like the note on [url]www.alphacentauri.com/downloads.html[/url] says, I'll look at the readme.txt file when I run it.
