Someone please help! My res won't change from 640x480. My monitor has run at 800x600 before, and my graphics card (3Dfx Banshee 16mg) can run up to 1920x1440.
I have all of the latest patches and drivers, and my card has directdraw features.
Whenever I change the res to anything higher than 640x480, the screen shrinks down a little and flashes. Yes, it flashes. The screen just blinks on and off.
What's the problem?

Try changing the refresh rate of your monitor. Start with the lowest, do the Windows display test, then move it up until it starts flashing.
