Having read the many threads in this forum I have a pretty good idea of what to look for when I get SMAC (I know. Hard to believe someone doesn't have it yet). However, just a few questions and comments regarding my topic.

I have a software removal program called Remove-It 95 which I absolutely adore. It's great for removing every trace of a program. However, when I load anything onto my system I get a box asking if I want to log all the changes I'm making to my system. Usually I say yes since if I want to remove the program later on it knows where everything went. Does anyone forsee a problem if and when I get SMAC to have this program log where everything goes?

On a related note, I presume that I have to turn off my virus protection (Norton 2.0) to have the game run. Correct?

Comments:
A thread a bit farther down this column has a lot of good ideas from people both at Firaxis and from the outside. The comments regarded the _possible_ culprit; AMD chips in the 200 - 233 range. I was also wondering if maybe the Matrox cards need to be taken a look at as there seems to be a fair amount of systems having problems using those cards.

Finally, to Firaxis:
I live about an hour away from Baltimore and would be more than happy to bring my system down when I get the game and if I have the problems these people are having. However, I am using an Intel P133 (soon to be 166) so I may not have the problems described herein. I will keep you updated and if the problems occur will contact you to arrange a dropoff date.
