Farms don't seem to make any difference in my games. Whenever I get info on a square the nutrients listed for the square without a farm and with a farm are the same. And I've tested it out a square produces the same amount of nutrients before I cultivate the farm as after. I've tried fooling with some of the files to see if I could tweak whatever was wrong, but so far no luck.

You may need to get the correct technology advance to raise your resource rates to 3 and above. ( It's the one for "tree farm" I think).
