I have noticed a recurring bug in SMAC Retail + v2.0 Patch (downloaded Feb 19). When using the non-simultaneous multiplayer option (over TCP/IP), I am conducting diplomacy with The Hive (it is not my turn). It then becomes my turn, and the message pops up saying so. The Hive diplomacy screen goes black and I can't continue the game. I have also had a similar problem when sending a chat message when it is not my turn. Except it automatically sends my message regardless of whether or not I am finished. All of these I have been able to repeat.

P233 w/MMX; 32 MB RAM; Win98; 1024x768; 56K Modem;

Also, when playing via AlphaHQ.Net, most of my options from the game are not preserved. There is no music, and only select sound. What are the differences between the AlphaHQ.Net version and the TCP/IP.
Also, when I attempt to change my gender (in multiplayer), it ignores it. I am the Spartans, and I change it to male, I go back into the screen and it's back to female. And, in the non-multiplayer, when I change i to Male, I'm still considered "Pact Sister"

I have a similar problem to this one in multiplayer. When I am conducting diplomacy with another faction and my turn comes around while I am in the dialog window, it will not close the dialog window properly when it informs me my turn is at hand. Instead, it keeps the shadow of the diplomacy window open (without buttons available to close it) and keeps all other diplomacy options opens that appear in the bottom portion of the screen (like faction information, HQ, help, etc. but NOT options for dealing and closing the communication).

I have had this happen numerous times and it appears to happen if the diplomacy screen is about to close anyway. For instance, they give you a new tech and it is opening another pop-up or you have ended communications. It does properly manage the windows when you are not in a window transition and your turn arrives. My guess is this has to do with some exception handling in the window code and the clean-up that goes on afterwards.

I have a PII-350, 196 MB ram, ABIT-BH6 board using a Riva-TNT video card, Monster 3DII sound, Motorola external modem (V.90), and SB-DVD (2nd generation).

I have also had sound problems with my Monster 3dII, however, I fixed it by disabling both EAX and DS3D.

I am using the Patch version 2.0

Hope path 3.0 fixes this.
