Author Topic:   Multi-Player-How to Load Saved IPX Game?

I may just be stupid, but after playing IPX game for a while, saved the game, (this is with the 2.0 patch applied), then came back the next day to continue the game. How do I go back to playing in IPX mode, if I just load the game (either me or what was the "host" of the game) it defaults to Hot-seat mode...how do I change/fix it?

Host a IPX game, and on the setup screen, select Type of Game. There, load the save.

I can sympathize with people not knowing how to restart a Multiplayer game. It took me an hour with several false starts to be able to do it.
Clicking on LOAD seems logical on the main screen but won't let you.
Also ... going to Multiplayer should then logically give you a way to choose RESTART A SAVED GAME but it doesn't.
To restart a game you must first make believe you are starting a new game and then use TYPE OF GAME to set it to a LOAD GAME type.
Weird. And not clearly noted in the manual (actually, not in the manual at all ... in the small booklet).
I hope to add a Multiplayer page during the coming week to Alpha Centauri Heaven explaining a few of the Multiplayer quirks.
