Hi all, I've got a P166 with 64 Mb of RAM, and SMAC just runs horribly slow on my system. In the later stages of the game, it will sometimes take 3-4 minutes for all of the auto-move units to get their work done, and then I have to complete the rest of my turn!! Several questions: 1) What are the most processor intensive options that can be turned off? 2) What toggle do you use to make peices slide faster (even if animation and sound are disabled for this, I don't care) 3) Any other tips for speeding up gameplay that I'm not thinking of? Any and all answers will be appreciated!! -Flathead- |

Try replacing your unit graphics with those "lov res" on the cd-rom, that improved performance alot on my comp. |

Get v2.0, which will improve map performance. Also, turn on any preferences that "move units quickly". jkm firaxis games |
