I brought SMAC in NZ, and post installing the patch 2, I have problems with sound and the odd commlink communication losing it. I thought that NZ had the US software - how do I check, thanks ?

If the patch installed, you've got the US. The sound issues may be solved by verifying that EAX and DS3D are set to 0 in the alpha centauri.ini file.
