1. I performed a complete install and system shut itself down.
2. After installing typical install, I have what sounds like attempted sound....by that I mean I get a lot of started phrases...actually only sylabales...very choppy very annoying.
3. game shut down on me after a terrific couple of events occured about 220 turns into the game. can't be more specific because I was up so late playing the game...barely remember that I've got a family.
4. I have 100% so far been relying on govenors and "auto" features to preform most every task.
5. how do I find out My version # and is the downloadable SMAC2.0 a beta download or one for those of us who purchased the game? Thanks, Randy

1. Very weird. The computer shuts down? Well, as long as the game installed I guess..
2. What's your sound card? It's probably worth checking out their webpage for new drivers or getting dx6.1 from www.microsoft.com/directx.
3. What's with your system just shutting down?
4. Cool. I wonder if this is related to points 1-3.
5. It's on the help menu. Ctrl-F4? Shift-F4?

Almost forget, v2.0 is currently for the full US version of SMAC.
