Stops and stutters.Not patched-Dell 200mmx,SB16,32mg,Monster2,Matrox Millenium.Tried the Directdraw and cdrom cache fixes from the readme W/o effect. |

Pickup the patch. Does it ever just cold lock up? Get Dx6.1 as well and probably make sure you've got the latest video/audio drivers. jkm firaxis games |

Never had a complete lockup,think the drivers are the latest but SB16 do report as uncertified even tho I got them a couple of weeks ago.Trying the patch next.Is Dx6.1 included with the patch?I have 6.0 I think.Also is there a way to replay the SP movies in the game to test to see if they run better now?? 6.1 must be downloaded at www.microsoft.com/directx. You can play any movie in the game by hitting Ctrl-K to activate the scenario editor and then can select it from the scenario menu. jkm firaxis games |

I have the same problem... 100% of the time if I start the game in 1280x1024 or 1024x768 resolutions, 90% of the time if I start the game in 800x600... It also occurs at the "faction eliminated" movies. |

OK,now I'm totally frustrated!!I downloaded Dx6.1,even let it overwrite my unreconized SB driver then went back to a game saved about 5 turns B4 my main game,tested the SP movies for those SPs I achieved using the editor-they ran w\o any problems!!But then I went back to my main game,gained another SP after several turns but the movie had the same problems,URRGH!!!Comeon guys I never have problems like this with my system. I never have these sort of problems either. I can see the movies from in the game just fine, but when it tries to cut back to the game, the screen goes black. Everything is still running, I just cannot see, or the screen has moved half way upward with lots of static lines. I've installed the new DirectX 6.1, done everything in the readme, to no avail. I can play the game without them, but the movies add a lot to the feel of a game. SPs are noteworthy accomplishments. I hate to just see a text blurb on a pop up screen before clicking it away. |

hi guys, im having a prob with the movies also. im using stb velocity 128. the movies work outside of the game but in game the videos are very distorted. iv tried everything in the txt file. nothing works. am using directx 6.1. have tried both resolutions, and have even tried to get the best driver for velocity 128. one final note. i tried a direct x tool that comes with the game cd and checks all sort of stuff like sound, video, direct x and direct draw drives. everything worked except one of the Direct Draw components (the one that switches to full screen). it showed multi immages instead of the single immage (the same prob as with the videos). Help |
