First off I want to aplogize if I seem bitter. I love this game and I am very frustrated I can't play it without problems. I appreciate any help I get.
This is one of the illegal operations I get (the other one causes the opage fault IN terran.exe also instead of unknown)
TERRAN caused an invalid page fault in

The crash happens at random times. I normally play at 1024x768 resolution. I'll try chaging it down to 800x600 (grumble grumble)I played for 5 hours this morning with no problems, then I have crashed twice in an hour and a half tonight. I have crashed playing most factions (I have not played all) I have crashed at the end of my turn, beginning of turn, durring my turn, moving units, moving resource locations in my city screen....
I can't think of anything in particular to do to re-create these crashes, they happen when they want. I have defragged and reinstalled the game on FULL, still have crashes. I crash with/without cd. Except for the known Starsiege:Tribes bug I don't crash on any other games I have (not even the Alpha Centauri Demo has ever crashed on me).
You wanted to know as much about our syustems as we could tell you? I BELIEVE all my drivers are up to date, But something on my system has to be wrong since I have only seen a handful of people talk about this problem. First here are my basic system spec's:
PII 266mhz
48 meg ram
ATI Rage Pro 3d w/ 4meg vram(integrated into motherboard)

DvD x2 (x20 cdrom)
4 gig hard drive, about 500 meg free

Good info. Try two things. Get DirectX 6.1 from www.microsoft.com/directX. Next go to the ATI website (escapes me...) and make sure there isn't a more recent version of your Video card's drivers. I've seen a lot of movie problems solved by updated Rage drivers. It also seems strange that the stability was improved at the lower rez. Update time, and let me know what happens.
