Raising the terrain of Monsoon Jungle squares destroys the jungle.
Any time a special resource will be destroyed by any given action, terraforming in particular, the player should be warned.

Something like this happened to me as well. I was scouting around and discovered Garland Crater. Unfortunately, I explored a pod in the middle of the crater and triggered an earthquake. Later, when I built a city to take advantage of the extra minerals in the crater, I found out to my chagrin that the terrain-raising earthquake had destroyed them.

The same effect when you raise sea with resource or lower plane with them - they disappeared without trace. Warning is neccesary.
