After installing the v2.0 patch, my sound is cracking and jumps in and out. In order to get it to work, I have to go into the alphacentauri.ini file and set ds3D=0; this turns off the DirectSound 3D...I believe it is DirectSound 3D and not A3D. Anyway, I have DirectX 6.0 and the drivers that came with the MX300 and I even tried the BETA drivers for the MX300 on Diamond's web site. Anyone else have this problem? PLEASE help because I've heard what v2.0 sounds like in EAX and it's REALLY nice. Thanks!!!!! |

I have the same exact problem. What are you system specs? Could possibly be a hardware conflict. Mine stats are: Pentium II 450 Matrox G200 AGP 3Com 3c905b ethernet adapter Adaptec 2940UW SCSI controller |
