Howdy.

I would like to make a suggestion with regards to the organization of this forum topic.

I think that the SMAC community would benefit from some sort of Support and Troubleshooting heirarchy. With the varied range of problems from hardware to software to different game versions, it would be of great benefit to break down the problems into more discrete types.

For example, a few sub-categories for support and troubleshooting would be:

. general hardware issues (related to sound, movies, loading, etc.)
. general software issues (suggestions, how-to, etc.)
. SMAC v1.0
. SMAC v2.0
. SMAC v3.0
. SMAC Demo

Personally I could not care less about defects found in versions earlier than what I am playing. However, for various reasons, others can not patch to the latest version and are interested in knowing what is going on with their version... hence the separate groups.

I think this would go a long way to help organize a bit of this traffic and even help Firaxis sort through the "already fixed" and "needs to be fixed" bugs.

Comments welcome.

I would disagree strongly. As you might have noticed from other posts, the rest of the world (even those who speak proper English) are lagging well behind the US for no fault of their own. If we (Europe) don't get 2.0 before the US has 3.0, I don't really think these forums are going to be worth bothering with.
