Whenever I try to start Alpha Centauri I see the Firaxis logo and then I get an 'Illegal memory access cause by 'terran.exe'...' message, and I can get no further. I've tried everything suggested in the readme file, nothing works. I have a dr. Watson log-file that describes the problem in full detail. My system is:

Pentium 200 MMX
64 MB RAM
Matrox Mystique 4MB
Diamond Monster 4MB
Soundblaster 64 AWE
Windows98

I have no hardware conflicts. Can someone help me figure out where the problem is? I'm totally lost here.

Sincerely

Nina

Try sliding your hardware acceleration to 0. Rightclick on the my computer icon, select properties, then performance, then graphics. Set the slider to 0.
