I had beat the Spartans hard enough that they surrendered to me, was doing the same to the UoP. I wanted to steal all their tech first so I surrounded one of his last cities with armies to let it starve and be unable to produce any units. I also attacked once with a nerve gas plane to prevent him from trying to surrnder to me every other turn. After that I simply hammered any defenders he built with my superior elite bombers. Here's where the problem occured - a couple of turns ago, the Spartans sent word that they'd declared vendetta on the Uop like good little vassals. Good of them, but essentially pointless because they were on the other side of the world. I noticed a defender had arrived in the UoP town so I sent in my bomber, only to discover that I couldn't attack because the Spartans had a fighter in there (because of my pact I couldn't attack). Then I checked - the Spartans were still vendetta'd on the UoP but had a fighter stationed in one of his bases. I have a save if you want it. James |
