not to sound stupid but is there a way to direct research?
so you tell us there is an option to turn off blind research, where is it? i tried turining off all of the "what shall we research" choices, it still researches stuff, and its not what i want. In one game i started, without me doing anything, it was turned off and i loved it, but then i started a new game and it was back on. Very annoying!
Also, you might want to take a look at your forum links i clicked on one that might answer my question (it was in the Sci and research deal) and it linked me to your Strategy and Tactics forum. Also your search engine isn't working anything i typed in, it said there were no matching articles.

You might try "Customizing The Rules"
It is just about the last menu selestion you make when you start a "normal" or "custom" solo game...
