I never had a problem before today, and I got a crash for no reason. So I put on the 2.0 upgrade and it happened again. I have 4 gigs of HD free, and 128 megs of ram.
Dump to follow:

TERRAN caused an invalid page fault in
module TERRAN.EXE at 016f:0047a5a3.

Welcome to the Terran.exe fault club. We've got so many members now that we're going to declare nation status soon an dtake over the known universe (and then maybe a bit more). Haven't a clue what causes this problem - but could be sound related (call it a hunch). Suggest you read the other one million messages regarding this topic

I have been reading alot of these, and I am going to try some of the tweeks I guess. It seems that when I am getting ready to move a missle boat that I get this, but I will have to try and duplicate it some more to be sure.

I have some more info about the crash. It is a missle skimship that is pretty much in the middle of the map, near the top. When I try to move down off of the utility pod I just grabbed I get the following:

Well, I didn't actually grab the GPF info, but for me, I had a reliable crash (yeah... can reproduce it) every time I tried to initially convene the council to elect a Governor. It was in an MP game, and I was the only one to receive the crash, however, I was the only one to try to convene the council.

You may want to go the uninstall/defrag and scandisk/reinstall route. Are you playing with the CD in the drive? What about the install type?

jkm

firaxis games

I am playing on a full install without the CD. I could try that route, but I very sceptical about the sucess rate.
