The background music - after playing for some time - suddenly goes away never to appear again. It has nothing to do with the volume sliders, fiddling around with them doesn't fix anything. It's strange, because I could play a full game with music - then it went away. Same after re-installing...
I have the German version of the game and a SB Awe64(Value), which shouldn't be the reason.

The music is keyed to your use of the interface, so if you leave the game idle for a few minutes it will vanish. But it should pick up again after your start playing again. Certain factions (like the Spartans) have music very keyed to actions (like attacking).

Yes, I noticed the music keyed to the interface. But right now I play with the Morganites and after playing some hours I didn't hear any music at all.
Is the spheric background music also keyed to factions?
Believe me, the music vanishes completely!
