I have noticed that My energy reserves almost never go down, no matter what the social engineering screen reports I will have happen. E.g. It says that I should be loosing 40 credits a turn (-40 income) but instead I wind up gaining 30 or so. To test this, I moved economy all the way down to zero, whereupon I should loose 170 credits a turn. Next turn, I have lost only about 40 credits or so. Is this a bug? I once thought that this might be the number of shields that a city is bringing in but will not go towards the build que, but I tried this on a turn nothing was built and I still gained credits when I should have lost them. Anything I am overlooking? -Chris

BTW I am not referring to "building" converson of minerals to energy, but rather a situation where I have more shields stockpiled than I need to complete the item in the Que (ie I changed production from something expensive to something cheap; do I get the wasted minerals as energy? I found the answer to be no) -Chris |

Now there's a bug I wish I could reproduce. |

Yea, I've noticed that a lot of bugs are not easily reproduced; ie one in 20 psi battles the odds might be off, but if I ask you to reproduce it, 19 times out of 20 you won't be able to. I have seen psi battles where Disciplined troops get -12%, when I have a +1 or +2 morale social bonus. But then I can't get it to repeat that next battle... It makes me think perhaps I am mistaken, but I am pretty detail-concious, and I have seen too many odd events for me to be mistaken every time... |

Ha! What a funny question. Frankly, I've sometimes ago treated this as the bug, too, but did you ever notice that 'commerce income' statement? So, this is it. [so if you don't have pacts or treaties, you won't reproduce this 'bug' )But there is a little thing to count. The commerce income is added to your reserves after all bases are reworked, so if your reserves at end of turn are less than 'outcome' (so you are supposed to get reserves below zero on the next turn), some of your facilities will probably be destroyed when energy comes to zero, so look for it.
