Hello, I've made two different attempts to start a multiplayer game, one over the internet, and the other through a serial connection. First, over the internet, my friend and I were both online, had exchanged IP's and alternatly tried to host/join a game. We both recived "Game not found" messages.
Secondly, another friend and I tried to start a serial game. We also tried hosting/joining and still got the same "Game not found" message. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but I'm taking the cable (a regular phone cord) and running that into the modem jack in his computer. Is that the right way to create a serial connection?

Nope. For TCP/UIP connect to the internet first and use winipcfg.exe to find out your IP address. For serial, you actually need a serial cable connect between your machines, that the direct-connect protocol is installed.
