We have played multiplayer game over LAN (IPX) for some time, and SMAC wants to design my units automagically even though I have "design units automatically" off in preferences. It's the same problem for both of us in our game. We recently patched our UK-versions to 2.0, and loaded our saved game (I don't remember if we had that problem in 1.0). Is that the problem? Should we start a new game for it to work correctly?

I have had the same problem with v1.0 several times. (Just got 2.0) This also happens in singleplayer whenever I discover a better reactor. It automatically upgrades all units with the new one whether I want it or not. Usually it's a good idea, but I'd like the option to choose whether I want it or not.
